Isn't it rather extreme nationalism, kinda jingoism? I've never been to the U. S. A., so I have experience only from TV and Internet. Discuss please.

It depends on how you define patriotism really.
Some Americans will say that patriotism in unwavering support for the current leadership.
Some will say it's exercising your right to protest for the good of America.
Too many Americans, in my experience, fall into the former category.

After the 9/11 attack we (as American's) learned pretty quick that we need to stick together (for the most part).
We were terrorized in a way that we never thought possible. Sticking together was the only thing we could do.
Unfortunately it has faded as time has gone by.
To answer your question, yes it is Patriotism.

Patriotism exists in every country, but only USA shouts about theirs at every corner! That's their life style, perhaps we ought to learn smth from them! Is it so bad to love your country and express your love publicly ?

No nationalism in a pluralistic society. Don't believe what you see in the press.
