Hell yeah that's your American God Giving Right. No trespassing. You have the right to bear arms and protect your property. Within reason of course. I don't mean you can shoot some kid who keeps stepping on your beautiful green lawn, but if you feel threatened and you want to shoot, then by all means put a hot one in his butt.

absolutely not unless they are endangering you or your family, and in some jurisdictions you have a duty to try to run away from your own property if someone is on it and endangering you.

also, the law allows someone on your property without your permission in some instances (like if they are escaping a murderer, or somehow fleeing danger).

You cannot protect your property with deadly force, you can only protect your life with it.

Depends on what state. In my state your property must be clearly marked, and with warning signs. You must give a warning, and after a warning can you then shoot, but you do not want to kill. Plus insurance brother...insurance.

In Mississippi you can.

I think you can in Texas and California too.

I guess I would take my chances in a southern state before I would in a northern state.

Depends on the trespassing laws in the state in which you reside. It used to be that in Ohio, people would plant nice, friendly signs on their front lawns - "Trespassers will be shot!".

Not sure if its the same way still.

Sure...if you want to be arrested for assault. Murder if you kill him/her.
Phone police and tell them there is a trespasser.
