I have lots of stretch-marks on my hips since puberty and it was ok, I always thought it's just the way it is and it didn't bother me so much. But this summer I've noticed (darker skin!) that I have some long lines I didn't have before, mostly above the left hip (I wonder why more on one side?) - even on lower back and I freaked out. Well, I can't blame my mother anymore for not teling me to use something when I was 13...

I have had them on my belly since I was 15,I'm 27 now.I have tried EVERYTHING that's over the counter,NOTHING works!!!!!! I have seen a laser treatment that works wonderful, but it takes many treatments to completely get them gone for good.I'm positive the only way to get rid of stretch marks completely is by laser!! The stretch marks fade a lot as time goes on,but they never go away completely.A stretch mark is where the skin has been pulled so far that it causes a scarring underneath the top layer of skin and causes the mark that you see.If the stretch mark isn't too bad or is very small, you can use some over the counter treatments will help them fade faster, but not make the scarring go away.Keeping your skin moisturized will help prevent stretch marks but some people get them anyway,I tried everything,I kept my belly greased up ,and I still got them from being so small and getting pregnant. My skin couldn't handle my growing belly.Stretch marks are hereditary too.Good luck!!

I'm still using baby oil. And have only a few. Started to apply when i found out i was pregnant. In my 30's now. I had two kids and i won't stop using it because it worked well for me. If you are getting them from losing weight? Always start to apply the baby oil before. Has to be done everyday though to work.
Hope you find the right answer. Good luck.

I use Mederma (I believe is the name, it can be bought at walmart) Scar Gel. I have only used it on scars, but it is also used for stretch marks. It's worked wonders on my scars, so you could try that.

I heard Palmers lotion for strech marks work. But you also have to keep you skin firm by exercising. Lotion alone won't help.
