Honestly, be a phone sex operator. I did it. You work for a company but you work on your own schedule and you work from home. It is pretty awesome. You make great money too!

First, the idea of paying taxes and getting them back makes no financial sense. If no tax is owed, do not pay any. You need to keep track of your business income and your business expenses and the difference between your business income and your business expenses is the taxable amount you will pay income tax and social security ( aka self employment tax) Second, the business expenses in 2011 are not written off in 2011 and they will be in 2012 and 2013. Third, go on line at irs.gov and read the publication " starting a business) and educate yourself as to what the requirements are when someone starts a business. Yes, you can hire a professional too but equally important is the fact you need to know the requirements to be met for tax purpose.

What are you good at? What do you like to do? Summer's almost over, but I know people that make a killing at lawn care. You could paint houses, do home improvements, make a craft and market it. How about an errand-running business for people that can't get out because of handicap or sick family members. I don't know if you ever watched that Donald Trump show, "The Assistant" (or something like that) but The Donald gave people trivial items to market or develop and sat back to see what they could do with it. They managed to turn a profit on crazy stuff even as simple as selling lemonade. Whatever you do, do it with zest and work your tail off. You'll make it.

I run a lawn greetings business and have done so since 2002. People hire me to set up in the wee hours so that their friend or loved one wakes up on their special day to find a yard full of flamingos or other lawn ornaments, along with a sign with their personalized message.
It's a fun, happy business.
There are about 500 of us across the country running these types of businesses and we're forming a trade association, which is at http://www.lawn-greetings.com/forum.

What about working from home? Open to the idea? For added streams of income that you can create for yourself? Check out home-based businesses on-line. There are many good ones out there. Rich Dad Poor Dad "Business School" by Robert Kiyosaki says it's the best way to become rich and find what you're looking for in life. They're all life changing and you just never know! Check them out with the Better Business Bureau as well! I got started at http://bedavis1.mywayout.net/! If you like what you see you fill out the form for more information. Check them all out and find what you think you'd really like!
