It is not a matter of making but attracting the person that you want - develop your own personality/skills/abilities to be attractive to the type of person that you want and the right things usually happen from there. The other thing that I have heard is that it is good to write down all the traits of the person that you want to meet and that will make it more likely that you will recognize the right person when they appear in your life.

what do you not like about yourself?
what do others not like about you?
most importantly,
what are some things others think about you? This one is very tough to answer as you have to essentially put yourself in their shoes. Perhaps some things you say and do are taken in a different meaning than you mean them to.
Improving yourself is not the hard part, its recognizing the problems that is difficult.
