So u r not an imaginative artist, huh? So what? Think, imagine & compare. Great artists think and draw.
Otherwise, draw something new, say, the busy streets (not mountains- they r so common), a wide view of ur surroundings, etc.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Visit a museum to see the types of subjects that famous artists enjoyed. I know absolutely nothing about art, however, on a recent excursion to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan, I recognized that many of the paintings that were popular weren't portraits, but scenes involving people in various conflicts. Some situations were whimsical, others more serious, others depicted scenes from the bible, etc. In your sketches, get a feel for a scene you wish to describe and go for it. Make as many attempts as you need because art is a life long passion. Don't ever say you're not imaginative. The fact that you draw says you are. I think what you need is stimulation. Draw what you see in life, what makes you angry, sad, happy, aroused, etc. But draw with passion. Imagination is fueled by passion. Have fun and draw.

As an Industrial Designer, I always have to keep up on my freehand sketching - working on a computer all day kills those kind of skills. Look around your house & find something that means a lot to you, ie: a family heirloom, something a friend gave you, an old photo, and try to replicate it. Being that it means so much to you, you will strive to make it a perfect drawing (often times, I draw them over & over). That should keep you busy! Another idea is to read a book & draw a scene from it. Good luck!

look up a pic of a lion on the computer... then draw it.

i figure if you need a person to draw a portrait, then use a computer to draw other stuff too.. it works for me anyway... weird huh?
