The USA will become a third world country. Then Iraq will see our weakness and blow us up. That's why we all need to migrate to Australia in 20 years =]
China will be the next superpower... they're rising quickly and we're falling fast a la Bush.

There is more than 30 years oil supply, that is a lie put forth by the oil companies. Also there are vast reserves yet untapped in the U.S.all over the west,Gulf of Mexico, and Alaska. Not to mention the technology exists to turn coal into oil.The U.S.has 37% of all the worlds coal .The coal to oil plants cost 6 billion dollars a piece to make. There is a bill that will be up for a vote in the coming weeks that will give G.E. an insurance policy if oil falls below 25 dollars a barrel.G.E is the only company that has the capital to build the 60 to 70 plants required to make the U.S. energy independent.Furthermore isn't interesting that G.E. would need or want an insurance policy if oil fell below 25 dollars a barrel? That to me shows that even G.E. knows the price of oil is artificially inflated.China is also looking into this technology. The technology comes from S.Africa.The U.S. and other industrious nations will be just fine because of innovation and technology.

One thing that is great about America and Americans is our ability to change and adapt, where that is not seen, for the most part, in other countries (i.e., Russia - had the opportunity for freedom, but government is backtracking).
I do not agree that the world's petroleum reserves will be completely gone in 30 years. Even if that were to happen, America has always been at the forefront of change and even catastrophes bring out the creativeness of the U.S. population.
The free market allows for creativity and the demands of the people create new markets.
Your question insenuates (sic) that the U.S. will relinquish its status as a super-power in 30-40 years. How do you go from petro depletion to the U.S. being powerless. Remember, if the oil runs out, it also runs out for the rest of the world. The rest of the world will look for who is to blame while the U.S. will be developing alternative energy sources, if your premise is correct, which I don't believe it is.

it may be true on oil supplies??? As the world can see now that the China is becoming powerful & will they wiil keep on as they have complete control of their people. Their laws are enforced to
to all the same not as ours as the people with money many times get different penatlys than those without, this is wrong!!! sure we have more freedoms but all should be the same. We have the know how to make & use other fuels but the oil people will not let this happen as they will loose the almighty DOLLAR!!!!

In 1970 that is what my Professor said, "We will be out of oil in 30 years" boy was I worried.
Russia is in the process of changing Sakhalin island into a gigantic gas station. they have sold half their oil ahead of time and claim to have enough oil for the entire world for the next 40 years.
Communist China will be, wants to be, and is well on the way of becoming the next Superpower. Thanks to one of our past presidents giving away our missile secrets the Chinese have targeted us with SLBM`s and ICBM`s since around 1996. They are pumping our oil of Florida from under the Gulf. They control both ports of the Panama Canal and their Navy leases Long Beach port in California.
Go to Google Earth and put in the coordinates 38.155620 N, 105.570621 E and you will see the most amazing thing on earth at the Chinese war college. If you are wondering what that is it is Kashmir.
They have convinced many of our people that they are our friend even though they forced down one of our spy planes right after Bush took office just to test him.
They will wait for a weak US President and take Taiwan.

the amount of oil in the canadian oil sands is supposed to be equivalent to the amount of already known reserves so there is alot left. The thing is that something else like nuclear power will be further developed to replace what is lost, probably it exists today but mankind does not act until his hand is forced to do so.

What a load!
Are you delusional or just a victim of a public school education?
Where did you dig this nonsense you are spewing up?
We have plenty of domestic sources for energy and all we have to do to retrieve them is stomp a new mud hole into the collection of tree huggers and root kissers who don't think its a good thing to use the natural resources we have handy...

Number one.....I doubt it. This world is so much bigger then we even imagine. You couldn't deplete the resources if you wanted to. The US will have a new energy source in ten years that will replace anything we have today. This new energy source will keep this country at the top of the world's economic food chain.

While some may say that, there is no evidence to back it up. The world is pretty much one big oil supply... We just need to start looking to other areas to get it and build more refineries to convert the crude oil.

Regardless of our world oil supply, we really need to focus on alternative fuels. We have the technology for renewable fuels, such as bio-diesel, ethanol, solar, and wind power. We need to concentrate on these eco-friendly alternatives, to preseve mother earth and reduce our dependence on the middle east.
