All Discus ssp and hybrids are very timid. Placing them in schools of say at least half a dozen will give them the confidence to venture out in the tank rather than hiding behind plants/ rocks etc.As they can get to 12 inches or more ,I would suggest a 75 gallon tank as a minimum and plant it heavily around the sides and rear with some nice driftwood in the center.Try and have the tank situated in a realitively quiet spot and enjoy, there is nothing more impressive than a group of adult discus going about their day and if conditions are right they might even breed for you.

well a group of fish would be a school of fishes, but we r talking a large group. therefore it is known as a college of fishes :)
