A lasting impression on you?
I once saw a sculpture made in the shape of wings formed from over 3,000 women's old shoes. Little girl belts out, LOOK MOM, those are the shoes Aunt Beth made you throw away. Think of the girl and all the shoes women walk in.
What is a memory you have?

See link below. Saw PIcasso's Fernande with a Black Mantilla at the Guggenheim in Vegas - I sat looking at her for about half an hour & she looked right back at me.

Also a fan of Titian - see second link for Suicide of Lucretia. Also saw this in Vegas. Now I understand why they put benches & chairs in art galleries & museums.

And to round this off, I also saw this (third link) Chagall in Vegas too - cool :-)

I go to museums often and frequently see things that make a lasting impression. One of my favorites was an exhibit of the Hechinger "Tools as Art" collection, which I saw at the Building Museum in Washington, DC. On piece was a wall of Vise-Grip pliers welded together to look like a school of fish. It was amazing!

I went to the PostSecret exhibit in Georgetown (wash, dc) a few months back - thousands of home made post cards with secrets...Some were amusing but most seemed so painful. One in particular said something like 'I was 7 the first time I was raped'. It made me think of my niece and nephew, my friends small children and I ached inside for the pain people carry.
