Are the symtoms more worse than the pill?

no periods, or having them once i a while
loss of sex drive
weight gain
hormone imbalance when you stop taking it
takes longer to conceive once you stop
of course, every woman is unique and will experience different side effects

I've been on the shot for 8 years. Gained about 20 lbs in the first 2 years. Then it leveled out. I actually lost some of it. I some times get migranes witch is another side effect. I only get hormonal a week before my shot is due. I also was put on the shot after the birth of my son because I got preggers on the pill. I also haven't had a period in 8 years.

i have been on the depo injection for 6 years with no side affects my periods stopped altogether,now i have not had the injection for 8 months and i still have not had my period so that is a bit worrying.every body is different but i found the depo better than the pill cause when i was taking the pill i got pregnant.

When i was 17 i took the depo shot, i gained probably 20-30 pounds, and my head was all out of whack... it really messed with my hormones . My emotions and my judgement were totally out of control because my hormones were so out of whack because of the depo... im not positive if my psychiatric side affects are common (though they were severe) i know many many many women who say they gained around 30 pounds over 1-2 years of being on the depo shot.

I got the shot the day after I delivered my baby and then did not stop bleeding for 1 year, I was 16 so my mom was making me still get the shot even though I was bleeding forever. I never gained any weight I stayed at 100 pounds. I also think it might of messed me up chemically in the head...then again I just lost that baby maybe I had post pardom and was grieving over the loss of my 4hr old baby I dunno. Sorry if I wasn't any help: (

When I was on it I had a period for 7 months straight. It was HORRIBLE! I can't tell you how depressing it was to look down and see that everyday for so long. My hair didn't grow either. It took about a year for my body to return to "normal" again. These side effects were from only one shot I never got another. I am on the patch now and it works fine for me, but that shot.... Never again!

Massive weight gain, terrible mood swings. Yes, the side affects are worse than the pill. To me personally.

my friend had this shot an she bleed for three months and got really depressed. Everyones different tho
i know i wouldnt go near it
