I'm sure you are just looking at the small picture. Open your eyes up and you will see that not every black woman talks like that. A lot of them do have class!

Hmm, interesting question. I'm a Black woman and I have a husband. When you say 'my baby's daddy'. I'm assuming you mean they're not married or maybe even not living together. I have a bit of historical insight on this, althought it's just my opinion. This phenomena can be directly traced back to slavery. Families weren't stable. Couples weren't allowed to marry, and family members could be sold off at any time. Often it was the father that was sold and the children were raised by their mothers. This set the standard for absentee fathers. So generation after generation families were raised by single mothers and the children growing up in these situations learned that it was acceptable, normal even. So fast forward to today, keeping an eye on the past and it makes sense. It's a continuation of a lifestyle that was perpetuated by the slave trade.

When will people learn that people don't fit in boxes? I have a very good friend that is black and she has a husband and 2 little girls. I also saw a white women at the ball field with 2 kids, no husband that called the baby's dad that she was carrying "my baby's daddy". So, does that make her "black" in your eyes?
There are good people and bad people... no matter what color, sex, religion, nationality etc they are. When we learn this, the world will be a better place.

did you know that we are living in year 2006? have you stopped living in the1500's were blacks were looked at as different or what??
Don't tell me you never heard a white girl say that!! I am really shocked at your question. Or maybe I should have ignored you, as most probably you are one of those persons who do not have anything to do apart from judging people!!! And most of all, your question is so freakin' racist!!!
Girls who say "my baby's daddy" are found everywhere, under different circumstances! It can be the the freakin' daddy does not want to take his responsability of the kid, or maybe the baby's daddy and the baby's mummy has split up, so he is no longer her husband!! Man!!! How can you be so ******' racist and say something so stupid and judge people as cheap and stupid when your question clearly shows how you are stupid and ignorant!!! Your question should have been deleted much before!!

Saying "my babys daddy" does sound stupid and ignorant and definately makes you look cheap and trashy but every race of women use that phrase not just black women. It makes you look stupid assuming that black women dont have husbands. You should think about what you say before you type.

I begg your pardon, but it's my opinion that it's you who looks stupid by suggesting that african amerian women don't have husbands.
There are women of lots of other races/nationalities that do not have husbands as well.
Marriage is NOT something to take lightly, nor is everyone meant to be married.
African American women are not the only women who have children outside of wedlock.
So your comment is indeed uneducated and ignorant.
they call them "baby daddies" because THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE. THE DADDIES TO THEIR BABIES.
It's called HONESTY. And honesty does NOT make anyone look cheap or stupid.
Blessings To All The Ladies With "Babies Daddies".

I think that your question is very ignorant and prejudice. there are a lot of BLACK GIRLS that have husbands, careers, and a life. Not all Black girls are single parents. There are plenty of White girls and Asian girls, and other nationalities of girls that have " Baby's Daddy's". You seem scorned by a black woman? Did your man leave you for a Black woman?

First of all, I'm a black WOMAN and I do have a husband. I don't and I never will have a baby's daddy. So, before you make a generalized prejudice statement like that get your facts straight. Okay!

Good question. I'm not sure why, but my best guess is maybe they don't have a husband. And it's not just blacks, whites and other races also use that phrase. But I will agree that it does make one sound uneducated.
