ANY CARD WHICH HAS VISA OR MASTER CARD AND HAS REGISTERED ADDRESS WITH CARD PUCHASE IS CAPABLE OF A MAKING A ONLINE PURCHASE.
THE SECURITY CONCERN IS MAJOR DRAWBACK IN ONLINE DEALS. MOST OF THE ONLINE MERCHANTS ARE NOT TRUSTED. SO EVEN CHEAP DEALS ARE NOT UTILISED BY NETIZEN. ALL THE EMAILS ARE VARTUAL POSTCARD CAN BE READ BY ANY UNAUTHORISED PERSON
MOST COMPANIES PROVIDE ASSURANCE THAT THEY ARE GOING TO DISPUTE THESE FRAUDS BUT IT IS WORTH MENTIONING THAT FEW OF THESE DEALS ARE SETTLED IN CUSTOMERS FAVOUR.
TO SAVE YOUR ACCT FOR BEING USED FOR FRAUD
1. NEVER BUY FROM UNKNOWN SITES EVEN IF THEY OFFER PRODUCT FOR DUST LOW PRICES
2. NEVER PURCHASE THRU LINKS FROM EMAIL ADVERTISING A PRODUCT. RATHER GO TO GOOGLE SEARCH THE SITE . OPEN HOME PAGE AND THEN KEEP CLICKING ON LINKS ON THE SITE.
3. WHEN THE PAGE COMES FOR PUTTING OUT THE ACCT DETAILS CHECK FOR LOCK SIGN ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT HAND CORNER.
4. KEEP A CHECK ON ONLINE TRANSACTIONS AND IN A CASE OF FRAUD INFORM THE BANK IMMEDIATELY.
5. PUT A LIMIT TO MONETARY CARD USAGE THRU BANK . BEST IS USE A GIFT CARD.
6. SOME BANKS ISSUE A SEPARATE ONLINE ACCT FOR A SMALL PRICE. THEY ARE SAFE AS THE MAX WHICH U LOSE IS THE AMT ON THE CARD.
HAPPY SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!

I used to have a citi bank card, and one of the features was that it would create a one time use card number/expiration date for online purchases. The one-time-use card number would still charge it to your card, but the online merchant would never have your real card number, and so no one could re-bill or steal your number.

Discover gives you an alternate account number to use for online purchases so that people don't know your actual card number. I think that seems like a good idea.

Yes, Visa or MC. Preferably one with a low limit that you only use for online purchases, so it's easy to spot any fraudulent activity.

Visa or MC. AE is rejected by many sellers because the fees charged to them are too high.
