open the computer...u will see a big circuit board....look for a small battrey which looks like a coin(a nickel) tht needs to be replaced

That indicates that the information store in the system CMOS (such as the amount of memory installed, type of hard disk, etc) is not valid. This often happens when the battery dies, so the settings are lost whenever the power is turned off. It's kind of like an alarm clock or VCR flashing 12:00 after a power failure.

yOU EITHER HAVE CHANGED something inside your computr or something has a bad connection since you last started it. You may have faulty RAM chips or if you have added some more they are either incompatible or you just have to set your Cmos setting to Auto. Sometimes all you have to do is to restart!

Nb. To accss your BIOS(cmos settings) depending on your computer you have to hit the "DELETE" , "F1" or any other function Key observe what your screen is displaying once start up comences.

You have a small battery on the mother board that you have to change every now and then ( about every 3 years ).

Your CMOS battery could be dead.
