Yes, many, many many times.
Was on the 1st Aldermaston march (I was 9 years old).
Took part in the battle of Grosvenor Square in 1968 in demonstartion against the Vietnam War, carried enormous banner (12' wide by 7' tall) in demonstration against change to Employment legislation 1971.
Numerous Trade Union demonstrations throughout 1970s - 1990s including support to the Miners in their several battles with the Government, was at Wapping during the Printers strikes, Grunwick demonstration when Blair Peach was murdered.
Took part in the anti-war demonstration February 2003.
Although Police were informed on each and every occsion, very few marches and demonstrations I've attended have been entirely peaceful notwithstanding the intention of the demonstration.
That do you???

I was walking through London on the day of the anti-Iraq war protest and joined in that for a while, what little good it did. Protests rarely achieve anything. When I was at uni in 1998 we protested against tuition fees. I was about to finish uni but they were being talked about. So yes I have protested, with very little success. If you want to organise a protest, probably best not to invite me!

Too many to count over the years, but I think the most powerful were those I took part in as one of the Women in Black outside the UN offices in Bahrain.
Held in complete silence they were the most powerful events I have attended. The voice of silence can never BE silenced.
And we absolutely had to have police permission to stand there immobile and silent for two hours once a week.

Yes. Against student top up fees when I was at university. No I wasnt successful as I believe that the fees have been applied anyway, you have to keep trying though otherwise you have even less chance of getting the people to listen. At least these demonstrations raise awareness and tap into peoples conciosness.

Yes, a very peaceful demonstration about bad care at a nursing home. No police involved, just a journalist or two, very small scale.
