i came across.. a local employer a Singaporean told to a job seeker. He will hire foreign with a degree holder at $1600-$2000 than a diploma holder for engineering post. then what the point of going for a degree course... hahaha... sad... it become a foreign job seeker finding a job more easy than a Singaporean.

No, I read the news, out of 90 SMS, 40 plus don't agree, only less than 20 agree. Election not really reflect much, but the messenge by PM definitely hurt alot of Singaporean! Singaporean already struggle to find a job, even found a job, the salary is always too low to cope with the high standard of living...and the PM is encouraging bring in more foreign talents!!!! It's really hurt.

this year speech is as expected cos the money is already in the bag for the PAP (o O election duh)
so no goodies mah... now you already give yr vote the next step is to open yr arms to everything PAP give lah ..(foreigner included)
Population issues :- the solutions / goodies could clearly be fine-tuned / enhanced ... but this is not the course our PM is taking cos this is the legacy of his predecessor.. so he must bring something new to the table ... to emulate USA population policy which is based of abundant land in the country against Singapore? .. u think about it
Quoting from the papers "Singaporean are not against foreigners BUT the quality of them" this also exactly the way i feel.
At the rate of 20-25K new citizen per year .. we would be looking at about 1/4 million new vote for who u know .... (o O must be greatful for the passport ahh)
Singaporean needs a government who are PRO-SINGAPOREAN who provides solutions based/geared/catering/championing the every grain of sand which has been giving to the land for the last 20 ,30 , 50 years ago to bring to where it is now.
Its sad that our Governement has came out with solutions which are not SingaporeCENTRIC ...
Our PM should at the least enlighthen/assure/shows Singaporean what steps it is taking to make Singaporean be the Master of Their Land (TUAN RUMAH) not just the JAGA of the rumah which if we remember that the jaga will normally have his family back in India.
In closing i hope in 15-20 years time we would not have to come back to the population issue as we are now addressing the Policy of this Goverment itself created 20 years ago.
Thank You - MajuLAh Singapura -
