It is absolutely right. It is the greatest patriotic service one can render to the mother land.

But in India, whose society is still man-dominated and more so the Indian Army; you must have the right attitude not to be too sensitive to the remarks of colleagues which at times would be taunting and you will be feeling lonely, as many girls do not join the Indian Army.

If you join Army Medical Corps as a qualified doctor, you can fulfil both.

It is right if you have a dedication to the nation, those you love, and a sense of duty. the Army is not for everybody. It is low pay for hard work and long hours. But it is about the love of the work and the desire to protect what you love. It matters not if you are male or female, as long as you have the dedication to wake up at 5am every morning to go exercize for an hour before starting a 10-12 hour work day.

What job within the Army are you seeking to do?

That is a very good move being in the military whether your are a male or a female. The military will teach you so much as in social skills and also in protecting our country. If this is what you want I say always go for it. Don't worry about what anyone else has to say about your ambitions. You do what you want to make the best of your life that is possible in the most positive way. Always listen to you 1st instinct and never worry about how others act or talk about regarding any decision you make. So, yes this is right if this is what you want to do when you grow up.

Military is a good career. But there are frequent transfers, especially to the borders (which are no family zones). You are an Indian and marraige and family life play are an important aspect of our society. To that extent you will have to gear up and carefully plan out.
