I have just been prescribed it today. Had baby in Feb 06 and didn't fancy any "implants" as contraception!

I've been on the pill for for 7 years and has worked very well with me, but you have to be very care full when taking antibiotics as i have known a few people that have fallen pregnant whilst taking both. (especially as you have just had a baby and for most women this is a very fertile time). i one thing you need to remember is to take it everyday at roughly the same time, as if you forget within the first 7 days of the packet you bleed till the end of your month. you may also gain a little weight probably on your boobs due to the hormones. for a lot of people it reduces period pain and lightens blood flow.

Microgynon has an excellant track record as a simple and very effective contraceptive pill. It is very well tolerated which makes it one of the first choice pills for General Practitioners in the UK.

Most pill failures (2-3 pregnancies per 100 woman years) result from illness causing vomiting, missed pills and antibiotics with the patients failure to use extra protection.

Water retention is a common side effect of many hormonal contraceptives.

Please remember the Contraceptive Pill does not prevent sexually transmitted diseases.

sure you may. as long as you're taking a pill an afternoon till the tip of the %. it won't have any result on the contraceptive results of your pill. the hollow of each week is barely there to offer us a "bleed" via fact we are used to having classes! you may proceed from one 3 week cycle to the subsequent and dodge a era altogether, or proceed for a pair of greater days or so to postpone it if your withdrawal bleed (it is not a real era once you're on the pill) could coincide with an substantial experience! only determine which you never have greater advantageous than each week without, and take it for the three weeks in the previous struggling with returned and you're able to be wonderful.

i started taking it when i was 15 and had no side affects but a year after being on it i fell preganet with my son but i think its because i was taking antibiotics at the time and that makes the pill less effective. im 20 now and am on the pill called yasmin iv had no troble with this pill my skins even cleared up so i think it comes down to the individual.

If that is the version that you take every day it is great for those of us with a bad memory and was upset to come off it and never got used to the alternatives on offer.
It is a young woman's pill though.

I switched from Microgynon recently, while I was taking it I suffered from really bad PMS symptoms and felt quite depressed in the week before and during my period. However everyone reacts differently so you may be fine with it.

I've been on it for almost a year, also found my skin cleared up and no side effects except it does make me feel bloated, due to water retention I think. Anyone else have this trouble on their pill?
