In half seriousness .... I feel that like so many things in life, it is relative.
to how you view the world, neither is absolute best...
speaking from a literal point of view, a bit aout leaping, or rather a bit about jumping
if you have ever done a skydive or a bungee, you will have experienced both the looking , (unless you keep your eyes shut) and the jumping....
They are both different, and both things which people experience differently , having done a few of both jumps myself, the fear of jumping when you have not done it before is in some greater than after you have done a few jumps .. because it is no longer an unknown quantity, for it is partly the fear of the unknown that is the problem in any jump... and also it is the question of faith... that is faith in the equipment helping you to make the jump, be it a bungee, a chute, a pilot, an instructor,................ or yourself , which is often the case...... as something has to after all propel you across anything that you jump.... and also you have to gauge carefully what ever it is you are jumping... so yet again I guess it is about the unknow, and combating and trying to minimise the risk involved in a jump with so many variables and risk factors....
So once the unknown is slightly more understood it ceases to be scary, this is done through experience, learning skills, and having fun, communicating experiences etc.. so thats one aspect of that type of jump delt with .. thus the looking becomes more fun, rather than hard work, then you can start to think about taking larger leaps... or jumps in other directions... we all like to jump I reckin its just the returning to earth bit thats to be carefuly managed..
and finally in my ramblng I come to the point that looking and leaping are part of the same thing, as it is dangerous to leap wthout looking first,
Then again i guess you could try walking.. eyes wide open.
and I guess that's steeped in metaphor enough to make sense...
And anyway what is it that you are looking at leaping over or too, why is it tough to do either? what is the picture you have in your mind? close the gap.......

Look at what or leap over what? Does no-one make any sense anymore? What's with all this random junk, don't you have anything better to do than ask pretty pointless questions?
