Want to go on a cheap but nice holiday, would you go there after all the threats of terrorism recently?

I went there for 2 weeks at the start of July this year and it was brilliant. The weather touched 54 degrees for most of the holiday but there was little humidity which meant you didnt sweat as much as you would even in this country!

I highly recommend going but if you're going with just girls I wouldn't suggest you go into the towns on your own because the men will not leave you alone and they can be very forceful. If you want to go shopping then try hooking up with some other people at the resort and go in a group.

Nothing is free once you leave the resort so if you see a guy with a camal and he asks if you want a picture with it, it'll cost you, even if you use your own camera. Likewise if you take a picture of the sights and some Egyptian bloke gets in the shot...he then thinks he's entitled to money from you, dont take any $hit just tel them to pi$$ off.....it may be harsh but its the only way to get rid of them!

Places to go :
Garden reef snokelling - Brilliant, costs £25, fish come right up to you, the coral reef is feet away from you and if you're lucky you will see some dolphins swimming along side the boat.
Quad Biking - We went to a guy just down the beach from our hotel and got a private tour for £25 each through the desert, through mountain passes, stopping at bedouin tents along the way.

Places not to go :
Aqua Land : The local water park....consists of one small pool and around 5 slides, the rest is a building site (may be good in around 3 or 4 years!)
Cairo : A good trip to do if you REALLY want to see the pyramids etc but the bus journey is 8 hours there, you wander round for a while before travelling 8 hours back. We didn't go on this trip but everyone else I spoke to said they hated it, and it costs around £90.

Be carfull when booking anything such as camal rides into the desert, they may only charge a small amount but when you get out into the dessert they have been known to refuse to bring you back unless you pay them around £100, if you dont pay then they keep taking you further and further and trust me when I say you'll NEVER find you're own way back!! Book using a reputable booking agent such as your rep or with a tour guide based in or near the hotel complex.

One final tip, if possible book extra leg room on the plane, its a 5 hour flight which is not long enough for them to give you the planes with lots of leg room, we didnt do it and regretted every second (it only cost £30 each with First Choice).

I hope this helps when deciding on your holiday, don't worry about bombings or anything like that, it may have happened before but its no more risky there than it is here. Dont worry, be happy and have a good holiday.

Ps. When we got to the hotel we had to hand over our passports to the receptionist for them to take copies of, make sure you get them back as soon as possible because a small number went 'missing' while we were there which meant a lengthy trip to Cairo to the embassy to get temporary passports to get home. Which is not necessarily a bad thing if they go missing at the end of your holiday because it meant the guests got a free weeks holiday until their next flight!!

Sharm el-Sheikh could be the Sinai Peninsula's major tourism center and one of many world's prime fishing places and today you can get there your vacation with the help of that place hotelbye . Sharm el Sheikh is one of Egypt's most useful destinations in the event that you would like to calm down on the beach, and it's a chosen by family vacations due to the excellent facilities on offer. Whether you are here for the mud or the fish living, Sharm el-Sheikh is a good selection for a beach separate after exploring the temples and tombs in the rest of the country. Also, fringed with a white sand beach and swaying side trees, Naama Bay could be the epicentre of Sharm el-Sheikh's resort life. You can find considerable restaurants, cafés, and souvenir stores if you obtain bored of the sand, but Naama Bay is really all about the beach.

I went to Egypt twice.
Once to visit all the country site including Cairo, Luxor etc... and once in Sharm El Sheikh.
Each time people talked about terrorism theats. But When I got there, it felt safe and you have security everywhere. People are warm and welcoming and they like tourist as for them is a source of earning.
If you have the chance to try diving in Sharm El Sheikh, you won't be disapointing. Even snorkling is great: there is so many fishes even near the shore and the see is warm.
I think is a great place a very good value for money.

Well, I live out here and moved here 3 years ago from the UK and I love it. Frankly I feel a lot safer here than I ever did in London what with the muggings, rapes, assaults and the IRA and now El Q.

The diving here is fantastic, beaches are lovely and the desert is awesome. If you like the whole night life thing then there's a Ministry night club here as well. Bit of everything really.

If you've never been here then I say come have a look.

A friend of mine cam back from Sharm last week. They flew back on the Sunday after all the airports went to "Critical Alert" there weren't any problems.

I wouldn't have any concerns going. The Egyptians get concerned about anything happening to tourists as it's a major industry for them.

I went last year just after the bomb had gone off and felt safe at all times, police security has really been stepped up. Went back in early July and it was fine. It is a lovely place, would definately recommend going. There are threats of terrorsim wherever you go now. Stop being a scaredy cat!!

I wouldn't go there but it has nothing to do with terroist threats, I'm just not a beach person and don't really care for much of the other stuff there. I prefer Cairo with it's pyramids and malls and shopping at khen el-khalili. But if your set on going there I wouldn't worry about terrorist threats.

hundreds of individuals bypass to Sharm and tourism is a substantial sales source for Egypt. it somewhat is quite unlikely you're able to have a concern. i've got no longer been to Sharm myself yet did bypass to Egypt in basic terms previously the revolution. My mom and father went to Sharm because of the fact the revolution occurred and enjoyed their holiday without concern. i might assume you to be as secure as the different tourist holiday spot. Your holiday is meant to kick back you and while you're very in touch approximately it consistent with danger you will no longer be able to kick back wherein case be conscious your cancellation rights. individually i might bypass

You must go, it's a lovely place. I've been twice, once before and once after the bombs.

In theory, if you are afraid of terrorism, you cannot go anywhere, as you wouldn't go to London or get on a plane to start with.
