Give the 10 to "Brilliant" He has the best answer. I've lived in FL for many years, and certainly you can "grow" a tree from seed, which will be a very nice tree when you are many years older, but you won't be making Iced Tea, or Gin and Tonics from any fruit, that the tree won't produce anyway.

Yes you can plant seed to get lemon tree. It takes about 5 years for it to produce any type of fruit. As far as the frost, my mother-in-law lives in western Kentucky and she plants seed every year and selects the best to plant one new one each year she has done this for about 15 years. She has trees from a foot tall to aroun 12 feet tall. They don't produce a lot of lemons but she can pick about 40 - 50 a year with what she has.
She covers the trees in the winter time with a gauze cloth the keep them in good shape over winter but every spring they come back to life and re-leaf without any problem.

Yes, they will grow but will take years to get any size. Then, they would have to be grafted with a sweet to be good. They would be sour lemons. The best way is to buy a tree at a local nursery for instant gratification. The lemon tree will only grow in tropical weather that has little frost.

you're taking the seeds out of the lemon. you may soak them in water for some days. Nick them. Plant them in a sunny section. Watch them grow to be small lemon timber and then you would possibly want to ultimately in 2-5 years have lemons.

You could grow the tree but it most likely won't produce fruit. The citrus family of fruits need to be cross polenated.Bees will take pollen from a "male" tree and cross polenate it into a "female" tree. This is the only way fruit blossom will turn into fruit. This would take years from a seed and would probably not be worth waiting for.

it'll take more than just some years - there are some botanical procedures (not sure what they're called in english ;) ). so plant them, you'll have nice plants if you treat them right (water, light, no cold). but no fruit unless you seek professional help.
