They are very close to the equator wich is the hottest place on earth. The sun is always beating down on that particular part of the earth because of the tilt in the earths axis. Because the earth is tilted on it's azis the earth rotates east to west the sun ends up bieng there straight overhead for most most of the yaer.

B- It hardly ever rains, so its very dry and sandy

They are mostly 'desert' lands, and in desert areas, it is too hot in the sun and at night its too col.
