If someone steals your windows key - maybe using edonkey and registers it before you - or you have your computer upgraded and the XP is "pre-installed" - it can make it appear as if you XP isn't genuine. you connect to the Internet and Microsoft claim to be doing security updates - in fact they are putting spyware on your computer - get rid of it now or they will disable XP!
Click START, then search and look for files with WGA in them. You should find around 6 - delte those that will delete. You'll be left with 2 or 3 that won't delete. Move not copy those files to your desktop. One is WGATRAY.EXE . Right click on your task bar and run Task manager (or press ctrl-alt-del) then click processes - find WGATRAY.EXE and highlight it - than click end process. that sould stop it running. Now it will delete. the other file too - but you may have to restart your computer before you can delete that. Turn off updates from Microsoft - or they will do it again!
Now if you can prove that your Windows XP is genuine - you can contact Microsoft, if you can't they will make it genuine for $150 or you can buy a copy. Try Aria, about £60 for XP home £95 for XP professional.
Also look at the link I've given to Xandros below. A legal copy of the new program - an operating system that open source based on Linux - that microsoft uses itself for it's servers for $10! You could consider that as an operating system - looks good. I've given you that link and the one to Aria. I'll give you the link to my site. Email me if you try Xandros before me and it's good!
That has to be a top answer - I've read the others! lol

Did you install Windows Genuine Advantage? If so, it won't go away, and I'm not entirely sure if after 21 days it won't just refuse to work... Options - reinstall your dodgy software from scratch, or buy a legit copy. Back up everything before you do either.
Alternatively, if this was a new PC you purchased that came with Windows pre-installed, shop whoever you got it from to Microsoft. They'll like you then.

Youve been nabbed buddy. Theft is not only a crime, but its wrong. Seems that those big bad Americans you hate, have outsmarted you. Best to either pay them for their property, or live with the constant annoyance of the popup. By the way, it will only get worse. Microsoft hates people that try to cheat them by either downloading duplicate copies of software, or bootlegged.

Hi, there are some virus with your IE browser., you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.
i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar, which can disable the virus, becasue the virus can only run on IE.
firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and spywareware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

Oh so simple. Reboot in'safe mode' and type "software theft is a crime". Repeat this as many times as necessary then flagellate yourself with a warm kebab. Ha Ha, serves you right. Have a nice day

Interesting how you don't like America/Americans, yet you are stupid enough to seek help from people who are American.
That issue of yours can be easily fixed, but it's so much nicer to just know that you're suffering and frustrated over something so petty.

Go to Lavasoft and get Ad-aware. Pay for it to get Adwatch and it will block all popups on your desktop.
