They keep him around because when he is on his game he isn't bad. Unfortunately they play him when the game is on the line and he likes to blow it. They also like him to be around because he has more experience than the other bullpen pitchers. Don't worry I don't think he will be around for much longer.

Why does Anthony Reye's wear his bill straight like a fast food drive thru employee? Why does LaRussa still have a mullet? Why do they always choke in the playoffs? Because the Cardinals are overrated and going to get passed by the sorry Reds, the NL is a joke. Will it be zero World Series wins in three years for the NL?

He's got 30 saves and 7 blown ones...that's not too bad. He's been one of the most feared closers in baseball for so long. I thought St. Louis fans were more forgiving.

Trust me, Looper is a lot worse as a closer.

Let's GO METS!!

Great question. I love the Cards but I can't hardly watch 9th innings when he comes into the game. Even when he closes them there's usually 2 men on base. He never goes 3 up 3 down.

I also think La Russa out thinks himself much of the time. Looper pitched great in the 8th. Why not let him start the 9th. These are very important games right now so we can't be screwing around like this.

Because for years, he has been a solid guy at the end of the game...now he has one or two rough seasons, and the world comes down on him.

For all he has done over the years, it's a shame that fans are so quick to turn on him. He is the guy that St. Louis has trusted for several years...you don't give up on a veteran who has a proven successful track record just because of one bad season.

I was disappointed by last nights game. Pujols did great. I really thought they were gonna win. Then Izzy gets in to pitch and screws it up. Izzy is a good pitcher, but lately he has been struggling. I do think they should have kept Looper in. He couldn't have done much worse.

It seems like every time he trots out there, he's doing everything in his power to make them not make the playoffs. They just need to knock some sense into him, I don't think this will turn into like a Derrick Turnbow thing.
