Reformat it (",)

format it,
its the best if you want to get rid of viruses

Since viruses attack any comp through the program files u can delete the program files and reinstall it if u don't want to lose data.

OR

before formatting u can copy the essential folders into another hard drive bef cleaning off the hard drive.

If u don't have viruses but u want to clean up ur disk to free space then Defragmentize the hard disk.

U need to go to the control panel to do this.

Try using Disk Cleanup in Windows XP.
If that's not your option and wants to loose everything on your hard drive including your operating system, better to use the bootable Win XP CD, change bios settings boot order to CD then HDD, and reboot, you should get a message 'Press any key to Boot from CD' press a key, then do as if you are going to install Windows XP (from scratch), then remove all partitions and recreate them newly the way you like it, proceed with installation.

WARNING ALL DATA WILL BE GONE FOR EVER!!!!
