From the news show, hearing about the sediment wasting that they do down there where the MS meets the Gulf, well that seems like it is a natural defense system that teh people have mis-directed..... More land , ie> natural barriers could have been "adding up" all those years. www.link.20fr.com

Some, just no where near the neighborhood as bad as it was.

There still would have been lots of wind damage and some street flooding. Most areas here had roof damage from the wind.

There was damage and flooding before the levee broke, but it wouldn't have been as severe.
