Because he had arthroscopic knee surgery. he'll play in the olympics for '08. Oh yeah, he'll be ready for Lakers training camp on October 1st., to help steer da Lakers to yet another title!!!

with kobe failing to make it out of the 1st around without shaq he doesnt have a call yet to win an olympic championship jst to get is image returned. He was fresh from surgery, the questionable thing about is that he decided to have surgery days before the final selection for Team USA was about to be done. I'm not really looking forward to him playing with Team USA, I think he will disrupt the chemistry. Unless he does otherwise I won't be convinced.
