Sun makes the skin darker but does not make hair lighter. Skin naturally responds to sun light by getting more pigment cells called melanocytes. That is a natural defence mechanism of skin. Darker skin can absorb all the sun light and protects humans from sun stroke.

As your hairs are also a dead skin of body contains some part of water but in sun lights the water evaporates so the hairs got lighter and your skin is a live one so in the sun light mellenin(May be spell will wrong) produce mere below the skin which causes the darkness of skin

The simplest Answer I know Is that the sun will Bleach Anything in time, look at old color Pictures. But the skin contains Melatonin that absorbs the rays thus turning it Darker

Hi. Hair has chemicals in it which are broken down by ultraviolet light. Skin tries to protect itself by increasing melatonin content, a dark chemical which absorbs sunlight.
