my doctor requested that i get an amniocentesis when i was pregnant but then i found out that the risk of miscarriage is 1 in 200 so i decided that the risk of loosing the baby was just to high for me if you find out that your child has a problem and you know that you will abort instead of keep it if there is a problem with it then sure get the test but if you are going to keep it no matter what then there really is no point in having it done

I did with my last two pregnancies! I had it done because of my age and the risk of genetic problems...It hurt for a little while and you can't do ANYTHING...when you get home..

Do you mean an Amnio, as in amniotic fluid?
