I suppose to many others, certain human beings, if not all, are nothing more than possessions, or objects.
I know your question is more focused on object -
We are a complicated creation.. we have thoughts, which some can put into action.. we have emotions, would at times run ramped, and can make no sense to another whose merely watching without knowledge as to the whys..
but we also have the capacity to love, beyond all measure..
lately, we've become 'self' .. for whatever reasoning's..
We have mind, heart.. soul and spirit.
Inside this body of mine, is a spirit that sees the rain drop fall from the roses petal, sees beauty in the rolling thunderclouds as they paint the heaven (or sky to some), or becomes so overjoyed when it hears the laughter of a small child.. etc.
When this body dies, there'll still be my soul, my spirit..
My shell will feed the worms and the earth, and my spirit will soar above the clouds and enter God's kingdom..
complicated, and yet, so simple...
But object.. no. A creation made with love.. who is able to love back..

There is some counter evidence to that.
The basic argument stems from the fact that the human feelings are not externalizable.

Consider:
All human feeling are completely internal and are not possible to describe. Two people might say that they feel pain in the left knee -- but how do we know that their pain is the same? This question is not resolvable by science. Even if one were to understand the brain perfectly -- on would still not experience what the owner of the brain experiences.

Consider the case of a color-blind neurosurgeon. He might know everything about perception of color -- he might know everything there is to know about color. YET he will never to know what it is like to perceive color.

So brain states are not the same as the state of MIND or perceptions. So if the perceptions are not the states of the brain -- what are they? we don't know what it is -- But it is a strong evidence that there is a non-physical component to a human.

It's not really complicated. It just became complicated because we humans developed intellect, and because we wonder, we tend to say that there are complicated things which exists, and just like you, you came up to thinking that human is just a complicated physical object, although it's truly not.

Just a body? Absolutely not. The body is a vehicle made of the material elements that are constantly changing and will only last a few years. You want to live forever, but you cannot in this body. But this indicates your eternality. You are pure spirit soul, the same in quality as the Supreme Lord -- sat, cit, ananda-- eternal cognition full of bliss. Because we have become conditioned by Maya, illusion, due to our long history in this material world, we have forgotten our spiritual nature. To revive that consciousness is self-realisation, purification of consciousness so we can again understand our spiritual nature.

Not just a complicated object, but the MOST complicated.

sometimes I think you are right.
but I would prefer to think that we are more than that.
What? I do not know but not only a complicated physical living object.

The most amazing thing that I find in the human race is that we want to be bigger than what we really are. Why?

I've never met a human that wasn't complicated. You're really good at stating the obvious. Did the prince just kiss you?? How long were you out???

Firstly when approaching this question I would first search for a defintion of complicated, however without wasting precious moments seeking such a answer I will take the word at its ordinary meaning.
However first I would consider how broadly the word complicated should be contemplated within our mortal sphere, so to speak. Complexity on a physical level can be demonstrated through our biological makeup, a spine, a heart, a brain.. all of which millions/billions/ trillions of other carbon based life forms share. In that case can complicated be really applied to something that is so common. The answer of course must be yes, for example I would equally consider my computer to be complicated and could not possibly build one. Which of course leads on to a conclusion: Complication is not unique, even my computer is made up of hundreds of atoms, some of them very similar to what comprises myself.
As I delve deeper down into thought of trying to find things analgous to my computer and myself, one cannot ignore Brain patterns and the millions of calculations the human concious makes every day, and of course my computer. Luckily for me I have a personal autonomy with a wider understanding of the calculations I do make, as opposed to my computer that can make calulations without any understanding as to why.
Nonetheless one can see that biological programming is still programming and once more common to many species, albeit I can relate to my own more easily.
Therefore, even common things have a level of complexity and we fufill that criteria, but are we uniquely complex, as we live our lives and face our emotional problems with such gusto one would think we are entirely self centered (myself included). Yet as we go through emotional stresses are these even that important, I am going to be completly selfish, but for those who I dont know (the reader), I dont really care what such and such did at work today, and I doubt you do not care if the roles are switch. The simple reason is we elevate things without meaning, because we think they are important to how we function, yet as we do the rest of the world/universe ticks on by, and as we gaze on as a objective bystander, we come to the conclusion such complexity is not even slightly important, and not really that complex.
If the conclusion above is true it can be applied to other emotions as well, of which I will not emphasize, however, they include anger, sorrow, joy etc... Therefore the unfortunate conclusion (one I would advise not to take to heart) is that our emotions simply do not matter to the world at large, the only thing we do what matters is terraforming and other exploits. But as a self we do not matter, we are simply part of a whole.
Of course some will argue that the self is all important, and I for one must agree Self is very important, Self being I. I only do so out of pure selfishness, and I believe that we should turn our attention away from such a bland subject and focus on our physical being. However before doing so I realise one could easily bring religion and existance of a soul, if there is truth in the sayings of religion and the church then obviously that creates a new twist that I have not yet needed to consider.
The second part of the question is whether a human is a object, well firstly I doubt if the normal meaning of a inanimate thing applys, however I shall at least consider fitting it into some extended meaning of the word. We all know the universe comprises of atoms, electrons, quarks and whatver else exists in its sub-structure. These of which on a large level may be divided into elements such as carbon and silicon. A basic formula to make Water is H20, the elements of a human being at a physical level can also been broken down into a series of chemical compounds, most notably the mapping of the human genome amongst other things.
Therefore at a physical level we consist of microscopic atoms and things I shant consider without the help of some professional, however lets just say to break down a human may consist of a booklet of chemical compounds.
Of course the same can be said of all substances in our entire universe.
So, unfortunatly I have glossed over many points, however the answer is yes, but a human is still quite a unremarkable thing and clearly not the most important thing in the universe or the most unique.

Yes of course! The human brain is the most complicated form of matter that we know of. We barely understand ourself.

Great question...

Yes: all of our notions of God come from our brains being too intelligent to accept the fact that we are but a complicated vessel for DNA to replicate itself...we must ask ourselves the questions of why and more importantly why does it end...our brains think we are too important to just die and release our atoms back into the environment we ultimately got them from....

Does that make sense?
