Does anyone know the song that kept Lynyrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama from reaching #1 on the Billboard?

Everything I've seen states that the song made it to #8 in the summer of 1974--June, I think. It doesn't look like it got any higher.

When it was rising up the charts, the novelty song "The Streak" by Ray Stevens was a No. 1 hit early in the month of June, while "Billy Don't Be a Hero" by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods held the top spot for two weeks later that month. In between, Paul McCartney and Wings had one week on top with "Band on the Run." The last No. 1 of June was Gordon Lightfoot's "Sundown."
