I have the same problem as you: skinny as a stick. I eat considerable and cant gain a pound. I want to increase my body mass so I went to the doctor and after some analysis they prescribed my antioxidants, some protein and changed my diet to a certain extent. Every ones body is different so I recommend you visit a doctor and be cautious, lifting weights alone is not the answer.

the only way of gaining weight easily is by eating junk foods(fast food especially those with a lot of calories, fats, etc) regularly.if you do weight lifting,i guessed junks are not in your diet.the best for you to appear less skinny is by building up a lot of muscle.ask a trainer at a gym to guide you through this process.it will take some time to build a lot of muscle but the final result will make you more attractive and look better.

you are probably stuck. if you already have high muscle mass your muslces are burning a lot of calories when you exercise or when you do any kind of activity. increase your calorie intake and but stick with exercising and weightlifting or decrease your cardio activity level a little. gaining weight is stuff to do when you are younger.

Don't quit exercising those muscles, they'll turn soft if you do! Try taking in more protein. Diet is a huge factor to increasing muscle mass.

Alot of it is genetic. We can't all be Schwarzenegger. But if you are toned, fit, and feel good, then keep it up!
Also, if you are under 16 yo, then you may be in for a surprise if you continue to exercise..you will build up.

If you're young, nothing. Muscle is always better than fat. Just keep working on your health. Good cardiovascular health and strong muscles are what you need for a good life. It's not about looking good, even though they do. It's about giving yourself and longer, happier life.

Michael (above) is right... you have to eat a lot of the "right food". In any case, depending on your metabolism, you might want to consider weight gain supplements and/ or protein.

Do exactly what it says. Make sure you are eating a lot of good food. You really need to eat A LOT of food. But not junk food like fast food or candy. Things like Oatmeal, whole wheat grains, fish, chicken breast, flax oil, natural peanut butter.

do more heavy lifting resulting in few reps, and sets, which in turn add bulk.
Lighter weights more reps, and sets increase the length of the muscle which adds more definition
