After sex do not get up. lay on your back and stay there for about 45 minutes (try to sleep if you can). Do not go to the bathroom or put on clothes. (I know its gross but just try). Also limit yourself to sex every other day. Have sex the day before you ovulate. It takes time for the sperm to travel. Sperm can live up to 5 days in the human body.
Worked for me the first time!

First of all, the answer about taking the pill causes infertility is absolutely false! I was on the pill for 17 years before I started trying. I got pregnant within 3 months (unfortunately, I had a miscarriage - but it wasn't due to bc pills). The second time it took me 8 months, but during my 7th month ttc, my doctor discovered I had endometriosis and after removing it, I conceived the next month.

While ttc I charted my bbt (basil body temperature) everyday to find out exactly when I ovulated. My OB said I wasn't ovulating regularly and also too late in my cycle, so he prescribed Clomid to help me ovulate.

My advice would be to find out if/when your are ovulating. You can do this by either charting your bbt (when your temp goes up 0.5 degrees, you are ovulating), or buy an ovulation predictor kit. I hear Clear Blue Easy are the best. You can also chart your bbt on line for free at fertilityfriend.com.

Have sex on the day you ovulate. My OB recommended that we stop having sex after day 10 of my cycle to let his sperm count build up (there's no problem with his count), so that when we have sex on ovulation day there are more sperm to increase our chances. (I will be trying this method for the first time this month. In the past we had sex every other day from day 10 of my cycle until day 22.)

If that doesn't work, take your bbt chart into your OBGYN, or if you use opk, let the OB know what day of your cycle you ovulated and what days you had intercourse. Discuss your medical history and options with him/her, rather than going thru 9 more months of disappointment.

As you get older, your fertility rate decreases. Although you are still young at 30, it's not uncommon to have fertility problems. I come from a huge family, so I never thought I would have any fertility problems, but I decided to have children at age 34. I am 37 now and ttc my second child. Best of luck to you!!

Like you I am 30 y/o and TTC #2. My 1st is 4 years old and I got him after 5 months of trying. We have been TTC #2 since Oct 2004.

I am on metformin now and clomid in two months.

My suggestion to you is chart BBT and get yourself a clearblue fertility monitor. It takes the guessing out of when you ovulate!

Good luck to you!

Relax and just let things happen. Though I do believe that 9 months is a long time to try. Secondary infertility is a common problem so you wouldn't be overreacting if you ask your doctor about it. And don't listen to any idiots who tell you to just feel lucky to have the one you already have. Good luck.

during the break, did you use the pill? the pill causes infertility when used over a long period of time. i've heard that it sometimes takes 50% to 100% of the original time used before fertility is restored. for example, if you take the pill for 2 years, it takes 1 to 2 years before you are fertile again.

[edit] sorry i should have said that this is only a possible issue, not a guaranteed problem for everyone.

wait til u have menstruation(period) then from 6 days later try for a one week period of time.then u will have it.
reason:because 7-10 days after period is the day of ovulation.3 days before and 3 days after that day, intercouse has the most probability for fertilization and having baby.

After making love, put a pillow under your hips so that your hips are higher than your head. Then, lie that way for about 20 minutes. I got pregnant four times by using this method!

You might try charting, this will give you a clear indicator of your ovulation time. Plus you can buy a ovulation predictor and it will also help. After charting you can predict your ovulation time, have your signified other save up a few days to assist his sperm quality.

No alarm needed relax it will happen. Please do not try anything drastic like hormones etc. But rather change in diet, even try making a fertile chart. Usually women are most fertile two weeks after their period.
