I am 42 and in my whole life I never have met anyone that hated the Irish. When I was in the Army in Germany there was an Irish pub in Nuremberg that was extremely popular. Additionally, it was frequented by people from the UK and a few of the waitresses and bar tenders were from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Despite the IRA terror that still went on (1980's) everyone got on just great.
I always found the Irish to be extremely funny and open people.

I do hate that crazy lord-of-the-dance line dancing.
I cannot stand leprechauns. I like to bully little people because it makes me feel like a big man. However, I tried to bully one of the wee fellas and the rascal cast a spell on me and turned me into a rat for two years.
Otherwise I like the irish.

Jealousy?? because the Irish are a superior race!!! lol
So many folks go on about discrimination against african americans in America during the 60s, etc - but nobody was more discriminated against than the Irish. It wasn't until Kennedy was elected President that only a small amount of the prejudice against the Irish began to back off a little.

I didn't know that anyone hated the Irish. I love the country, and all of the people I have met have been charming, warm, self-deprecating and lovely. And hospitable. And very witty. Hooray for Ireland and the Irish I say, be they from the north or the south or in diaspora. No haters here!

In the old days it was because they were poor. Today, I don't think people hate the Irish (in the US anyway) - there are other groups to focus on.

I am 3rd generation Irish and have never experienced racism, but the human capacity for stupidity is endless so I am sure it happens.

Contrary to what Israely jew thinks, it is somewhat common knowledge that the Irish are some of the most racist people on the planet. As black man I would be afraid to go to Ireland
