Can cymbals age, and sound worse as they get older? I have been playing for years, and have a 15 year old Paiste Alpha crash that maybe doesnt have the punch it used to.......what ya reckon? Am I hearing things?

Yes the do age and change due to wear+tear and tarnish..you could try cleaning and see how they sound. I always prefered a cymbal with some age since I think gives a fuller sound

Yeah man, they age. I can't believe you haven't cracked it yet with it being that old. But if it still sounds better than a new one, why bother with it? Go to the drum store and take your cymbal with, compare.
