1) mathematics
2) physics
3) chemistry
4) genetics & biology
5) astronomy
6) something else

i would say it's none of them. an iq test is only good for telling you your iq. it has no bearing on any real-world subject! you could have an iq of 200 but be rubbish at maths or an iq of 25 and awesome.

It could be argued that they are all equal. IQ tests are tests set out to evaluate certain information. So let's face it, you could do a different IQ test for each subject, if such IQ tests were printed. If this were they case, it then comes down to a personal issue with the individual as to what they find hard or easy ( different folks, different strokes).

Interest and imagination. Then the ability to justify that by intellectual rigour. It is a spectacular set of skills. The branch of science does not matter.

I think historically, it would be physics and mathematics but moving forward, it would be genetics & biology.

The evolution of technology has been:

Mechanical (machines, animal power)
Electrical (motor, light, generator)
Electronics (radio, tv, computers)
Nanotechnology (Micro machines, materials, etc)
Biotech (genetics, stem cell research)
