i have 2 large ponds with around 30 fish ,orfe,koi,and goldfish,shebunkins etc....

I used to have a large (22 ft) pond with large koi and a waterfall
and gorgeous plants but we moved and I had to sell all that now
I have a smaller pond 8x8 and I keep goldfish and shubunkins
and some of my favorite plants also have smaller pond (400 gal)
with babies in it and my lotus

If your pond is over a meter deep then you can have Koi carp as they can grow up to 2 foot long and live for up to 30 years or you can have Goldfish and shebunkins if you have a small pond and do not want it to be a hobby. Why not go natural and go for frogs and knewts with a few small goldfish.

I'm a pond lover too. I just have shebunkins until I can afford koi again. I also plan to try goldfish and maybe even native sunperch or other small river fish. Not many affordable fish in my area.

Goldfish and shebunkin. Very therapeutic watching them swim round. I have a dream plan of building a summerhouse with a built in pond so that I can see my fish without having to resort to netting to protect them from herons. I like seeing the other pond life too -dragonfly larvae, waterboatmen, pondskaters - but sadly, for some reason, something is affecting the frog spawn so most of it does not hatch.
