The other day 2 guy friends of mine, told me I should tell my boyfriend I want that bedroom set for my birthday. I feel funny asking him for it. I have given enough hints. They say that is BS, I should tell him to get it? I don't feel comfortable asking him for anything, I have always been self-suffient. How do I ask or hint more?

i would not hint more....if you have told him then let it go...and be happy with what he gets you...but if you are out shopping together it does not mean you can not go look at it again and say i really want that bedroom set...but just have a happy birthday and if he does not get it then buy it for yourself...he may have his own ideas in mind...

it has nothing to do with you being a pushover girlfriend. you have to remember that men and women do not think the same all the time. he may not realize you have been giving him "hints". listen to your guy friends. tell him that you want the bedroom set for your birthday. if he gets it, great. if not, you can get it yourself since you have always been so self-sufficient. and remember it's not the gift, it's the thought and a bedroom set is a pretty big gift. it's not like your asking for a new pair of shoes. so try not to make him feel bad if he doesn't want to get it and just appreciate whatever he does get you. good luck.

Start a conversation with him and after a while tell him you seen this really nice bedroom set you would like to get someday. That would be a really good hint, I think.

Hints are enough, and since you mentioned it to his friends he will get the message. Gifts are not something you require of someone, they are gifts, if you want the bedroom set then just ask him for it but do not ask him to gift it.

Men don't respond to hints, they respond to being told the facts in black and white - hints are for the chicks!

You should accept whatever present he gives you with good grace - any gift is precious when it comes from the heart.

You'll just have to save for the furniture if it isn't forthcoming for your birthday. Good luck!

Tell your guy friends they are right, from now you're not going to be a push over anymore. Since they think you should have this bedroom set, you except them to buy it for you and have it delivered to your house.

If you were truely self-suffient then you would already have bought it yourself and you shouldn't even worry about what he should get you other than maybe some flowers or something.

DONT ask for the bed set - that would be greedy - he'll get you something, don't be picky. If you want the bed set so bad, buy it for yourself.

If you have already hinted about it, then I would say no more. He must be dense if he doesn't get the message.

Show him it and hint that it would be the greatest birthday present...
