Though Australia is considered the best team in the present form there are others such as Sri Lank, India, South Africa, Pakistan etc. who are also capable of winning the World Cup 2007. It all boils down to the performance of the teams in the World Cup Matches. It is very difficult to predict any clear winner at this point of time. The team which performs to its full potential will be the ultimate winners.
stand to win the World Cup. Though it may be possible to

Australia- they are the best in cricket and they got Brett Lee to bowl (fast).
India- They got Irfan Pathan to bowl and V.Shewag, S. Tendulkar and M.S Dhoni to bat.
Sri lanka- M.Murtahilan to bowl (spin) and S. Jayasuriya to bat.
New Zeland- Shane Warne to bowl (spin)
Pakistan- Shoaib Akhtar to bowl (fast)
England- A. Flintoff and Harmison to bowl (fast)
West Indies- Gayle to bowl (spin in very tricky ways) and B. Lara to bat.
Bangladesh- no advantage so will not win.
South Africa- (not really sure but they have a good advantage)

South Africa. I think that if all the key players are fit they can give Australia a good run for their money. Australia is pretty darn good but of recent, I think maybe South Africa might be the one to take them down. Remember the memorable match in March.

Australia is likely to repeat the same as they did twice but however it is only a speculation based on their current form...
But anything could change any time, i mean single wicket could change the whole game...So better if you ask the question who would be tough to compete in semis then it would be
1. Australia on the top
2. South Africa
3. Sri Lanka
4. Pakistan or India

i think so england or india or south africa
because its a bowling pitch and its not easy to play at this level west indies are at the top but they will not be top.
i said england because if there old team last years ashes team is back then they can beat any team.
india because they r in so good form.
south africa because they are also in a good form and there main captain greame smith should be back.
kallis should also be back like batista.

With the current form it should be sri Lanka. If India to win they should recall Ganguly, Zaheer & Kumble. Pakistan dont have any chance with their current bowling attack.
Australia cant win, beacause their players are aging now. they lost twice to sri lanka this year. (in australia)
England dont have any chance.

England will win (surely) coz they have bats men like K.PIETERSEN,A.COOK,etc.and they also have plenty of good fast bowlers only they need is some Spinners coz spinners can really apply benefit to the team on the pitches of west indies
