Question

why do drug addicts leave their needles around but not the syringes?? My friend and I really want to know cos she is finding needles everywhere but not the syringes??? (she is throwing the flatmate out, pronto!)

we found the syringes in the bin! but the needles in the carpet!!! thats what we dont get, why not dispose of both together?????

The reason is i understand is that needles are disposable, and freely available, to prevent infection and contamination. Drug addicts are able to collect these needles from clinics, in an effort to prevent the spread of disease...... The syringes are reusable, i am led to believe.
Please tell your friend, if she has to dispose of these horrible things, please make her use gloves, as there is a high risk of catching HIV, Hepatitis, and other diseases......and when she has got rid of this flatmate of hers.....give the place a thourough clean, just to be on the safe side.

it could be because they reuse the syringes but the needles they dispose of after they use them.

most likely because by the time the needle leaves their body, the drug is taking effect and they are so bombed they dont care where they leave it.

I avoid that lifesyle no idea, unless.....
From a medical standpoint, easier to clean syringes, and maybe he/she doesn't want to reuse needles, ...who knows.
