Hmmm? I'm having difficulty hearing the wedding bells, they sound faint....but hold on....

They might be heard if both of you, and yes I said "both" of you begin some preparation plans now. Preparing for a wedding takes plenty of time, so even though he's talking about a 2008 wedding, it doesn't appear to be un-realistic or too far. That time will creep up on you rather quickly!

Only you know what type of person he is and whether or not he is sincere in his future plans with you. Make sure you tell him what "you" want also! Get a game plan, prepare and hopefully, live happily ever after!

Dollar dance anyone?
Best of luck!

maybe he thinks that financially he will be ready then. If you love him time is nothing. He obviously believes that you are the one he wants to marry because he asked you. Just leave it at that. If you keep nagging about the time frame it takes to walk down the isle he may get irritated and not want to get married. Just think of the time you have to get ready. Some people wish that they did have this amount of time. Now you will have the time to really have a beatiful thoughout wedding. get ideas and see pricing it will give time to save money for the wedding or a house have fun with it.Be happy.

If you are thinking that that is too far then you are too youung to get married.....never try and push a guy into getting married...it will backfire in the long run.....second- that's about a year and a half away...most engagements last 2 years anyway....maybe he should give you more time to grow up.

There is nothing wrong with having a date at that time. A long engagement is the best way to get to know someone well. It will give you plenty of time to plan for the wedding to.

No.
He has long term plans.
It takes over a year to plan a wedding. Plus, he wants to finish school, get a good job and get settled. Smart guy.

That's up to you to decide.
Does he know you want it happen sooner ?
Which are the reasons for him setting such a long term ? Have you asked him about that ?
Don't be afraid to talk to him about it, tell him exactly how you feel and what you want and see what he has to say about that.

How is he with commitment? Sounds like he's got some problems. Would you prefer a liar or an immature husband?

Either he's got a good (sane) explanation.... or it's one of the above.
