I honestly think Albert Pujols will go down as the best hitter in baseball history, for players currently playing. I think Ted Williams will always be known as the greatest hitter ever, 15 years from now, 20 years from now...etc.
I believe Hank Aaron will still have the record 15 years from now. With no one really popping off 50 or 60 HR seasons, I do not think A-Rod or Pujols will put up that many consecutive 45+ HR seasons to get to Aaron's record.

Ty Cobb was the greatest hitter ever, and will likely never be surpassed based solely on hitting. Many claim Ted Williams the greatest and a strong case could be made for Pete Rose. However, Ty Cobb has the highest career batting average and the second highest hits total, bested only by Rose who played longer. Cobb also has more than a thousand hits more than Williams. While it's true Williams lost 3 years to service in World War 2, my vote for greatest hitter ever must go to Ty Cobb.
As for home runs, Bonds should retire after this season and if he does he won't pass Hank Aaron. If Bonds doesn't pass Hank, I don't believe anyone will.

do unlike answering those questions, because of the fact his occupation isn't over yet, yet... conform to a element. He set a team of archives in Japan earlier coming to the MLB, yet I mean, Ty Cobb? Ted Williams? Charlie Hustle? how are you able to argue with that. even with the shown fact that, Ichiro has an astonishing resume, and if on the tip of his occupation he has of 3500 MLB hits, then i could evaluate him to be the superb organic HITTER, no longer potential HITTER, ever. human beings, the Babe and Aaron are the fairly some correct potential HITTERS ok?

A-rod will have the homerun record and I think the best hitter will be the Twins catcher Joe Mauer.

Pujols will be considered one of the greatest hitters, but I'm not sure he overtakes guys like Ruth, Ted Williams, Stan Musial, Willie Mays until he's in the HOF.
A-rod will have the home run record.

As a base ball fan. I think it will be a close race. Because we all look at Barry Bonds and think he will hold the title. But I think that some of these rookies will dare to take the lead. This year alone we have so many rookies that have the potential to take the title for greatest hitter. At this time I think that Chipper Jones will improve.AROD and Derek Jeter are up there and have a good chance.

I am thinking Bonds is just about done playing now. He just said "I want to finish my career with the Giants".
Hank Aaron will still be the Home Run king. And Ted Williams was one awesome hitter in my opinion.

I think Aaron will still have the record. If Bonds can come back for next season he MIGHT be able to but I just don't see it. I mean seriously is he worth the trouble of signing him, even as a DH. Yeah he fills the seats BUT look at why.

I would predict that Henry Aaron would still have the record, but being closely pursued by Alex Rodriguez, forgetting about his recent struggles, he is the youngest player to hit however many home runs he has.

A-Rod or Pujelos will have the record and be considered the best hitter as long as injuries don't interfer with their career.
