He has just been floating on his belly for days....he is alive and active when I check on him. I poke him and he swims away and returns to the surface elsewhere. For a while....he even sat out of the water for long periods of time, sticking to the side of the tank out of the water. Now, I thought these animals lived most ogf their lives in the water;....is mine sick or something? Anyone had this experience?

Your tank may not be warm enough for him and he may be trying to stay higher up where it is warmer. Check to make sure that your heater is working properly and that there is enough water movement in the tank to spread the warmth throughout it.

I don't know anything about dwarf frogs, but I have a lot of reptiles. I had a problem with one recently and called the vet (expensive). You can try calling a pet store. Where did you get this frog? I once called a big chain pet store...either petco, or pet smart, and the reptile team leader was really helpful. Good luck.

We had 2, they really dont do much, thats about all they do, if you had something they could hide under youd never see them we had to take out this rock that had a hole in it because they would stay there forever and not come out, and it was under water. Just make sure you have a full cover top, somehow mine got out and died.
I am not a professional but thats how mine were.
