Im a Cancer and she's a Aires...most say water and fire won't mix...relationships doomed from the start....etc...yet we're totally happy now goin on 1 year!....so is this whole astrology thing true only if we believe it to be?

astrology is misrepresented in so many ways ,,,,,think about it only twelve signs and we all fit into certain categories ,simply not true .
BUT if one looks deeply at the birth charts and sees where different planets were at the time of birth this will give some TENDENCIES ONLY of some of the personality traits that might emerge .
but to simply say cancer and Aries are not meant for each other ,,,,no way ,,,,plus astrology also has the female male sort of component in each sign ,,,,Aries is a male sign so the female Aries actually gets the good traits that are portrayed ,the cancer sign is female and therefore the male gets the more positive attributes .so you see you have a very strong woman and a very sensitive man PERFECT match !!!!
you will listen to this extroverted and talented woman !she will gain from your sensitivity and you will gain from her extroverted and insightful ways .
anyway just a tiny lesson on astrology there really is sooo much to it ......

First of all, there's so much more to you than your Cancer and Aries sun sign. There are other aspects of your personalities (your likes and dislikes) that cause you to be compatible or not. You 2 just have a compatible mix. Congrats!
Some people say that astrology is a bunch of crap because they don't know anything about it. It's dangerous to take that attitude just because you're ignorant of a subject. That kind of thinking causes world wars.
You may say that astrology has no scientific basis...that's the same as saying that meteorology (the "science" that helps predict the weather) has no basis. Yet, they can tell you exactly when a storm, tsunami or most other natural disasters will occur. If a person says, "I don't believe in weather, so I'm not gonna take an umbrella with me"...will it not rain because they don't believe it?
If you're really interested in seeing how your personality will work with another person, have a complete astrological chart done for both of you. This will show you where your strengths and weaknesses will support each other. If more people do that (myself included), there would probably be less divorces and spouse abuse in the world.

My wife and I were told by an astrologer that under no circumstances should we marry.
She told us that if we did we would have extremely bad rows and the marriage would not last.
Maybe she's right - maybe the marriage won't last - but so far we've been married 41 years and now the kids have grown up, left the nest and laid eggs of their own we are like a couple of sweethearts enjoying ourselves all over again.

If you believe in your heart that you are happy , who cares what astrology says, you know your relationship better than anybody.. I f astrology said to leave her you are not good match would you do it....

it is real, you cannot just go by your sun sign there is much more to a persons astrology chart than that. if you really want info you would have to have your chart done by an astrologer- it is important where the planets are in your personal chart, eachof us is completely different- your sun sign only gives you general tendencies.

Mature people can beat the odds sometimes and Pisces are so adaptable and go good with Aries so in that case Pisces and Aries does work out well.

There's more to a horoscope than your sun sign. Maybe you have complimentary rising signs that help cancel out your sun sign problems.
