Do you mean .com ? .net is a Internet Service Provider. .com is a private commercial system - a company. No real difference.

Every site has an extension which reflects the type of work for the site is developed. .com says that site's main purpose is commercial. .co.in says that the site is mainly built to do some commercial work in india. here in stands for india which specifies the region and co is for commercial purpose which specifies the function of the site

The .net extension explains that the site is used to work for network. its main goal is related with some network or community.

these are just domains thats all. There is no difference in the way the information on these are accessed.

The domain names are used to just to indicate the purpose of the website.

For eg: .co.in is used to registered companies in India to set up their company website.
.org is used by non profit organizations.
.com is used to comercial websites
etc etc

.net - originally for network infrastructures
.com- for commercial organizations

But now they are not restricted, anyone can use, no differences between them.
