Oh my God! Are you guys serious??! I'm in my thirties, and I don't feel old. I've read some of your answers, and 23 is rediculously young to feel so old. Why don't we all just try to enjoy whatever age we happen to be? How's that sound? Sounds good to me. And no, I don't feel old looking at the new freshman class. They're not the only ones who will be freshmen. Some people will be starting school as a freshman in their fifties. There's nothing wrong with that. I think it's never too late. Education is not just for the young. It's good at any age.

Considering that I was 40 in 1988, yes, it makes me feel a little old. But, I also finished a college degree in 2002, and in doing so took a couple of history courses. What really makes you feel like you're getting up there is discovering that they are teaching Ronald Reagan as an historical figure. Kids couldn't find Vietnam on a map, let alone know any thing about the war there or when it was fought. We had a quiz and people not only didn't know the dates WWII began and ended, more than one put down that Adolf Hitler was a Russian Czar. Time goes by in a hurry. Here I am, having had the experience of shaking hands with the son of a Civil War vet, now living in a time when Tricky Dick is a side light to the past. I think I'll take up drinking Geritol (not that most of you know what that was),

Absolutely! I have 2 cousins born that year who are now starting college and I remember holding them as babies! I'm only 23, but I'm really starting to feel my age! No wonder I'm depressed all the time!

Why be intimidated by kids? It's more important and admirable that an older person desires to continue their education. They may be young, but you are all there for the same reason. That's what matters. I would NEVER feel too old in that situation.

No, that's not what causes me to feel old...I first felt kinda old when I realized I was old enough to be a grandmother (about age 36) if I'd had a kid at 18 and that kid had had a kid at 18...
I'm 41 now...I don't worry about it much...just glad to be alive :)

in collegiate studies most everyone over 35 up to around 80yrs old "feels" like theyre 17 on avg according to their mental state. those who felt so were physically & mentally active atleast 3-4 times weekly. so id say they dont feel old. :o)
