Interesting question.

I guess the answer would be a bit different for each individual.

On the whole, we drink to stop ourselves from thinking.

A lot of us feel we don't deserve to be healthy and happy - so we develop self-destructive life styles.

In many western cultures, we learn that it is supposedly cool to get wrecked with drugs and alcohol. We need to have a lot of strength to stand up to this and make a decision to look after ourselves.

Little self-esteem, lack of discipline and self-will! It becomes a routine after a while so you end up with totally irresponsible adults, fathering children then walking away, denying the women they imporegnated the support they need etc. And no i don't mean to be a moron! Simply say that it's OK to let your hair down once in a while but keep yourself in check! Don't wait until someone tells you "O not again" think it first and act upon it! You see we've all done teh over drinking at parties, flirting etc. But one thing we should alaways remember is responsibilities. Once we forget about ours ... We become more liable to act in a silly manner, hence can put ourselves and others at risk.

Why do we find it easier? Well if you had a choice to make betwwen time on a gorgeous island with gorgeous lookng males/females whatever takes your fancy, your favourite food and drinks and!!! a week-end in a health farm knowing trainers will overwork you, looking at a few lettuce leaves on your plate ... What would you pick? Of course you'd pick the island! Most people would until they begin to have problems with their hearty, cholesterol etc. But had they picked the health farm a while back ... They'd feel a lot better for it. Question is: Do they really want to feel better? For if they don't then they'll keep over indulging themslves!

I rest my case LOL

I treat myself very well. I know when to stop and when to say enough is enough so I don't know why people do it.

Maybe the result is better than the consequence and that is why they do it.

God gave us the power of choice. We can choose to be self destructive or we can be upstanding citizens in our community as God has intended.

Because we only have a limited time on this earth, so we might as well enjoy it! And when you're dead, you're dead.
