First come up with a shortlist of topics that are of genuine interest to you...ie where you have a passion. The best speeches are those where the speaker is passionate about the topic.
Then to make it a good speech, you can research it all on-line, with perhaps a trip to your local library (if you have one). Wikipedia is a good reference point...and of course there is the old faithful...a Google search.

Topic:- Potential of the Present Moment.
There are a few books to give you material for the talk. Mainly read 'The Power of Now' and its sequel, 'Practising the Power of Now': Also read Nityanandaji's books, browse thro' Deepak Chopra, as well. It's very fashionable, trendy to talk on higher planes, these days! You'll also benefit a lot from your own talk, because of the preparatory effort and reading!
