Deleting your Internet history will not delete your search history. Deleting your cookies might, but anytime you do a search on a computer the search information is stored in several places. Just because you have deleted it from one place doesn't mean a knowledgeable person couldn't retrieve this information.
(FOR EXAMPLE I COULD RETRIEVE AT LEAST A PARTIAL LIST OF YOUR SEARCH HISTORY FROM YOUR HARD DRIVE BY EXAMINING AN ASCII REPRESENTATION OF THAT DATA)
There are several small downloads you can retrieve from the Internet which can erase search tracks to include your searches performed in Yahoo.
Just remember the server that your ISP (Internet Service Provider) maintains, which you have no control over will keep a record of these searches also. These cannot be erase.
Here is a site that claims to offer a free version of a track eraser.
http://www.proxyway.com/www/internet-cleaner.html#internet-cleaner
If this one isn't really free just try typing "Track Eraser" in your address bar and let your search engine find another site that offers these.

However, if you wish to delete search history saved by the browser and auto-filled when you type on the yahoo website, here is the solution:
To clear your history from Internet Explorer:
1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
2. Select "Internet Options."
3. Click the "General" tab.
4. Click the "Clear History" button. To completely disable the history function, set "Days to keep pages in history" to zero.
To clear your history from Mozilla Firefox:
1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
2. Select "Options" > "Privacy" > "History."
3. Click on "Clear." To completely disable the history function, set "Remember visited pages for the last X days" to zero ("0").
4. Click "OK" to exit.

click on start /run
type in the box D:\install\windows\system\tool...
/hammer.exe. After you have installed the hammer on your computer then you take that little hammer and start clicking on every icon you have on your computer. Make sure to hit them all. After you have done that then unplug everything and take your tower right out into the middle of the room. then you take your real hammer and start beating it to an inch of its life. After it submits to you then put it back together and restart it. Have fun and enjoy your pc if you can find your icons.
