No, 18 is not too late to start. Ever heard of Tim Duncan? He still plays center for the San Antonio Spurs (I think). He was a swimmer before he was a basketball player, and he didn't start playing basketball until he went to college. Now he's playing in the pros and has two championship rings. You can start now and you may have a chance of making the pros or semi-pros, but it's going to take a lot of hard work and dedication. If you want it badly enough, you'll do what it takes. Good luck!

If you haven't played soccer before, 18 is too old for professional or semi professional, it's not like baseball, football or basketball were kids become professional in their mid twenties after going through the university level, in soccer teenagers already make it to professional level and by the age of 21 is really hard to become a professional if you are not already involved with a club.
But soccer is a fun sport that can be played for recreation and most recreational teams try to get involve in competitions, so go ahead and have fun, don't let your thirst of fame keep you from kicking that ball.

Nope! Not at all! If you want to take up soccer then do so! But only if your interested! If not then theres no way that you should do it! But to make it in the pros or semi pros---hmm...practice a little before and then try out or whatever! Remember it can't hurt to try!

18 is likely too old, unless you are already a very good (read NCAA varsity or better) athlete, to make pro or semi-pro.
However, soccer is a fun and very healthful sport that you can learn well enough to play recreationally at any age.

probably not the pros, unless you have exceptional physical gifts. Tim Duncan, for example, didn't start playing basketball until he was in high school, but he's almost 7 feet tall.
or, another example i have heard of is if you are playing at the pro level in a sport with skills that can be transferred to your chosen sport. hakeem olajuwon, for example, was a gifted soccer player, and the skills transferred well to basketball (along with his height.)

If you take it as a hobby, then its not too old. My grandfather learn it at 65. Sports is an international exercise, its never too old to learn, if not life will be boring. Don't give up in yourself.

No 18 is not OLD! As long as you are in good physical shape & have endurance, (able to run & not get winded easy).& don't have any old injuries.. especially to your hips, knees, & ankels...
Soccer is VERY VERY fun. But is a very physical sport & can be rough & brutal at times. I will say one thing.. It will definatly keep you in great shape!
To be young again..(SIGH)
Good Luck & God Bless.

It doesn't matter how old you are to play any game. Some people don't feel comfortable playing a game that they are too old for. But the truth is that it doesn't matter how old you are, all that matters is that you have fun playing the game.
