last time i checked, neither did any other river...or ocean...or big lake...or bottled water...so what's the big question here?

because there are many factories on the river banks of Ganga,even in the source of Ganga where it comes from . So the waste materials come and reach the river also the dust particles also react with water which makes river Ganga impure
